How Do You Benefit From the Qur'aan

Ibn Al - Qayyim ( rahimahullaah ) said in al - Fawaa'id :

Allaah the Exalted said:
Verily , therein is indeed a reminder for him who has a heart or cabin ear while he is heedful . ( Qaf 50:37 )

When you desire benefit from the Qur'an, then bring your heart during your together its recitation , listen heedfully and have the presence of the one who is being Addressed and spoken to , since it is a speech from Him , the Sublime , to you, upon the tongue of His Messenger ( sallallaahu alaihi wasallam ) .

Because this is the best and Most complete effect is suspended between the following :
1 . That Which produces the required effect ,
2 . A Which place receives this effect ,
3 . The condition Which is everyone is against To Receive Standard and Poor 's effect and
4 . The Absence of that Which prevents this effect from being obtained .

This verse has included all of the above with the Most Concise and clear of wording , Which is Most direct in expounding the Intended meaning .

His speech : ( Verily , therein is indeed a reminder ... ) is an indication of what has preceded from the beginning of Surah Qaf to the present and this constitutes that's Which produces the Desired effect.

And His speech : ( ... for him who has a heart ... ) this is the place Which receives the effect and what is Desired by it is : a living heart Which understands from Allaah , just as the Exalted has said :

It is but a Reminder and a Manifest , Clear Qur'an, that's he ( Muhammad ) may give warning to him who is alive ( ie the healthy and live heart of the believer . ) ( YaaSeen 36:69-70 )
And His speech : ( ... or who Cabin ear ... ) the one who directs his listening and the perceptive faculty of his hearing to what is being said to him , and this is the condition of benefiting and that accept the Desired effect from the words ( that's one hears ) .

And His speech : ( ... while he is heedful ) meaning his heart is present and witnessing , not absent and unmindful .

Ibn Qutaiba said: " Listen to the Book of Allaah , while your heart and understanding are present , not while you are unmindful and forgetful . "

And this is an indication of that Which prevents the Desired effect [ from the Book of Allaah ] from being obtained and that's is the forgetfulness and Absence of the heart from understanding what is being said to it , looking at it with care and pondering Slowly and carefully over it .

So that's When Which produces the effect and that's is the Book of Allaah : a place Which receives the effect and that's is the heart ; everyone is against the condition , Which is paying attention : the Absence of that Which prevents the effect and that's is the hearts occupation and distraction away from the meaning of the speech and its turning way to something else are all present , then the effect will be obtained and NGAWI and that's is benefiting from the Qur'an and its Remembrance.

5 Fundamentals for Success in Life

How to Be Succeessful in Life

1. Be Proactive

Viktor Frankl said that between stimulus and response there is a gap, and within this gap lies all our freedom. Even as he was suffering immense privations in a Nazi concentration camp, he realized that he was responsible for his thoughts and actions and was not simply a bundle of conditioned responses.
Like Frankl, we should strive to be the creators of our own destiny, orchestrating our experience of life. Everything starts in the mind and ripples out, so what happens around us is a reflection of our own inner world. Whether we allow our inner world to grow wild, whether we let weeds spring up and take hold or whether we cultivate a green and pleasant garden – it is all our choice: this is what it means to be proactive.

2. Take Responsibility

Since we have the power to choose our experience, we also need to accept responsibility for this. Perhaps not that everything that comes our way is a direct result of our own thinking (though some might say it is) but what we attract into our life is, largely, a reflection of our thinking. Much of this occurs on a subconscious level, but the subconscious takes its lead from the thinking mind, so changing our thoughts will change our world, and we are responsible for this.
Our behavior is a natural outcome of our mental images, and so we are responsible for our behavior too, and also for the behavior we tolerate in others. If we allow others to ride roughshod over us, then we have ourselves to blame.

3. Be a Good Leader

We cannot be effective in any area of life unless we have good leadership skills. Leadership is an art and each of us needs to find our own approach to it. Primarily, we need to understand how to lead ourselves, and this means having a compass, a direction which guides all our actions. This compass often takes the form of a personal mission statement, a document spelling out the values we live by.
As we lead others, whether as parents, bosses, in families or organizations of which we are a part, we need first and foremost to lead by example, making it clear what our values are and that we live by them. Any inconsistency in our professed values and our behavior will be spotted, seen through and will ruin our effectiveness. Personal complicity and double standards are the nails in the coffin of our ability to lead.
A good leader will lead quietly and subtly, from the rear, without fuss, without fanfare. In the words of the Tao Te Ching,
‘A good soldier does not inspire fear;
A good fighter does not display aggression;
A good conqueror does not engage in battle;
A good leader does not exercise authority.
This is the value of unimportance;
This is how to win the cooperation of others;
This to how to build the same harmony that is in nature.’

4. Don’t Let Fear Stop You

I love the movies of M Night Shyamalan. My favorite is The Village. The film is about facing the fears that haunt us and realizing that, when we do so, they disappear – nothing is as it seems. I heard once (though I can’t remember where) that the most commonly given command in the Bible is ‘do not be afraid.’
Whenever we grow, there is fear. Whenever we do something new, there is fear. Whenever we push ourselves to new heights or expand our comfort zone, there is fear. This is the nature of life. Life is always moving – either we are moving forward, growing, or we are moving back, dying. We have a choice – we can either grow or we can die. Growth and fear go hand in hand. It’s part of a package, and if we fail to embrace the whole package, we will die.
Don’t fear failure – failure is inevitable and necessary. Look at the life of any successful person and you will see a litany of failure. This failure is the foundation of success, so long as we learn from it.
Don’t fear other people. They are as vulnerable and as beautiful as you are – only sometimes they lash out in various ways to protect themselves. Everyone is doing their best, so be gentle on other people and don’t be scared of them.
When you face your fears, they will vanish like smoke.

5. Never Stop Learning

I have come to the conclusion that learning is the fundamental activity in a successful and purposeful life. If we fail to learn, we fail to grow, and this means that we die. Life gives us endless opportunities to learn, and the more difficult the situation, the more we are likely to learn.
We can learn from other people, especially difficult ones – they are like angels sent from heaven to teach us about ourselves. We can learn from the things happening around us. And most of all, we can learn by watching ourselves, seeing how we react and reflecting deeply on what moves us.
These five activities, if they can become habits, will lead to success in all areas of life. They are not a quick fix, but are the foundation of a life lived well.

Love For My Mother

Family Poem about Love

her love for her mother she feels in her
heart but is afraid to tell her
My Mother
© abdullah wife (zainab bt ya)
I love so much my mother,
She's always in my heart.
Even though we argue,
We'll never be apart.
She can tell when I have problems.
She knows when I am down.
She's always there to cheer me up,
and take away my frowns.
At times when I get mad at her
it's hard to stay that way.
Only because she makes me laugh
every passing day.

I love my mother with all my heart,
but this she does not know.
Sometimes I want to tell her,
but I’m afraid to let it show.

Batik Marie Cake

Batik Marie Cake

100g milo (any sweet chocolate malt powder will do)
25g cocoa powder
125ml boiling water
190g butter
200ml sweetened condensed milk
90g white granulated sugar
5 eggs, lightly beaten
250g Marie biscuits (any graham crackers will do), broken into rough quarters
  1. Grease and line a 23cm x 9cm x 7cm deep loaf tin (or other loaf tin with a capacity of at least 5 cups or 1.25L) with baking paper, extending paper 2-3cm above edge of tin.
  2. In a deep saucepan, slowly add boiling water to milo and cocoa, stirring vigorously until it is smooth. Add butter, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, and eggs to the mixture.
  3. Place the saucepan over moderate heat and cook, stirring all the time with a whisk or a spoon, until you feel the bottom starts to thicken, about 5 minutes.
  4. Turn heat down to low, and continue to cook, stirring without stopping, for about another 20-25 minutes until a thick custard forms. (refer to recipe notes)
  5. Turn off the heat, and stir in the quartered biscuits. Mix until all the biscuits are coated with the custard.
  6. Transfer mixture to the prepared tin. Press down firmly so there are no air pockets in the mixture. Fold the paper extensions over the top and press down to even the surface. Then let cool to the touch.
  7. Cover with cling film, and refrigerate overnight.
  8. When the cake is firm, use the paper extension as handle to pull the cake out of the tin. Slice and serve chilled.
Recipe Notes:It may look like the custard will never thicken, and when it already has, you may feel like it has thickened enough. I’ve found that the best way to gauge is when the mixture is reduced to about half of its original amount, and when stirring, you can actually see the mixture coagulate together, scraping off the sides of the pan perfectly; i.e. you don’t see any liquid remnants at the sides of the pan.

Villa Nabila

ENTRY OF THE VILLA NABILLA
No spooky happenings at Villa Nabila, Danga Bay

“It is a rumour, nobody is missing after entering the mansion. It is standard operation procedure to investigate any place or places based on reports received,” Johor Baru (South) deputy  police chief Superintendent Abdul Samad Salleh said.
He confirmed that police received a report that a 16-year-old boy, who had left his family’s house in Kampung Majidee here on Nov 16, was reported last seen entering the mansion, named Nabila Villa, by self-proclaimed paranormal-activity seekers.
Abdul Samad said a missing person report was lodged by the missing boy Mohammad Izzat Izuddin’s mother Norhayati Mohammad 38, at 1.15am this morning.
The boy’s mother, who had checked his whereabouts with his friends, was told that he had gone to the villa.
This information somehow leaked and everyone was posting in on their respective facebook pages, and blogs, causing a frenzy.
The situation snow-balled, when people saw shamans and bomohs  to the location, one of them a self-proclaimed ghost-buster , who hoped to track the boy down, believing that some evil powers were hiding him.
Police also upon receiving the report, were despatched to the scene. Seeing the police patrol cars, and a rescue vehicle from the Fire and Rescue Department, prompted passer-by to snap pictures and post it online, claiming that a group of children were missing.
At noon, there were about 300 people gathering in front on the abandoned villa, with cars lined up by the road side.
Police were also at the scene, manning traffic.
